Art exhibition Cheetahs, elephants and zebras

Africa is strongly featured in the Galleri Maari exhibition 1.2. -– 28.2.2025. It features paintings by Liisa Malmio, which depict African wild animals. Most of the paintings them were painted in 2022–2024.
Liisa Malmio made her first trip to Tanzania in 2002. Later she also visited Kenya, Senegal and Namibia.. In the spring of 2023, Malmio got to see the big beasts she had always admired in the wild in the Etosha National Park in Namibia.
In the 1970´s Liisa Malmio studied at Free Art School and at the Academy of Arts’ evening school in Helsinki. Gradually she began legal studies and worked as corporate lawyer during 23 years until she went back to painting. She also graduated in graphic planning and works to-day as full-time artist.
Liisa Malmio lives and works in Porvoo.
