Guided kayak tour to historical Sawmill Islands

If only those walking along the Hamari boardwalk in Porvoo knew the secret waiting to be discovered just a stone’s throw from the shore. The wooded small islands hide a hundred years of sawmill history, forgotten canals, nature and peace of mind that many travel far to find.

Beautiful Sahasaari’s (Sawmill islands) are full of history, nature and wildlife. During the guided tour, you will find out e.g. why Southern Finland’s largest sawmill was founded right in front of Hamari and why it disappeared.

The tour is suitable also for those who are not comfortable paddling on their own: we will go over the basics of paddling technique and guide is always nearby.

The open kayaks we use are also suitable for beginners and children/teenagers. A child aged 3-6 can paddle with two adults for free.

In addition to car and public transport, you can get to Hamari conveniently with a city bike.

With Hamarikupla, you can also book a private tour for a group of minimum six people, or rent kayaks without a guide.
