Heijastuksia – Keidas – Contemporary circus performance at Maari park

Heijastuksia collective invites you invites you to come and enjoy an artistic experience, combining contemporary circus and live music, in Maari Park, near Porvoo’s Old Town.

Keidas is a multidisciplinary outdoor performance that combines contemporary circus, live music and sound art. Sound artist Mikko H Haapoja’s natural soundscapes created a sheltered cove in Maari Park, where dance movement flows freely as aerial acrobat Haidi Ilona soars through the air. The work will feature aerial acrobatics accompanied by a live cello and bowed lyre.

Haidi Ilona Sadonkorpi is a freelance circus artist and aerial acrobat from Porvoo. In her artistic work, Haidi moves at the interface of contemporary circus and dance, combining dance and acrobatics into a fluid movement language. Mikko H Haapoja is a sound artist and multi-instrumentalist who combines influences from both Finnish-Scandinavian traditional music and electro-acoustic contemporary music.

Heijastuksia is a collective of freelance artists united by a desire to bring high quality performing arts to the urban landscape and make them accessible to all. Keidas is the group’s fourth work in the public urban space. The project has been supported by the City of Porvoo’s Cultural Services.
