Join the Red Cross Porvoo Helpers’ Club as a volunteer!
We welcome new volunteers to our Helpers’ Club at Porvoo which will be held on Wednesdays at 18-20 starting in September. The club season will end on December 2024

The Helpers’ Clubs offer first aid group activities for young adults (ages 16–29). In the weekly meetings, participants learn first aid skills and practice Finnish in a relaxed and practical environment. The materials and marketing are especially designed for participants who are learning Finnish, though the group is open to all young people. First aid skills are taught and practiced in simple Finnish, with English as a support language. At the end of the club season, an official emergency first aid training (8 hours) will be organized.

The purpose of the activity is to support integration and prevent social exclusion. Young people will develop their language and social skills, meet new people, and network.

As a volunteer in the Helpers’ Club, you will plan and facilitate first aid-focused group activities once a week (2 hours) for young people . As a Helper Club volunteer:
• You will participate in orientation and a planning meeting:

• You will teach first aid skills using ready-made materials, together with other volunteers.
• You will help facilitate group bonding activities and support participants in getting to know each other.
• You will have the opportunity to participate in an emergency first aid course and can request a certificate for your volunteer work.

First aid skills and experience in group facilitation are beneficial but not required, as we provide training for all volunteers.
