The goal of Baltic Sea Day is to inspire people to enjoy our unique sea and to make concrete efforts and promises for its well-being. In addition to the celebration, Baltic Sea Day aims to increase knowledge about the sea’s diverse nature, culture, and history.
Hamarin purjehtijat and Hamarikupla have organized activities for city residents on Baltic Sea Day, such as cleaning campaigns, boat tours, and paddling, over several Baltic Sea Days.
This year, Baltic Sea Day is an even larger event where actors from Porvoo connected to the Baltic Sea will present their activities, and city residents will have the opportunity to get to know their offerings and our common sea. Among the participants are boat clubs, hobby associations, environmental organizations, and local businesses.
The program includes, among other things:
- Lectures and presentations
- Performing arts
- Sea-related actors offering various activities: workshops, crafts, quizzes, lotteries, and more
- Free mini-cruises and paddling on the Porvoo River
- Floating boat exhibition, especially boats built at the Wilenius traditional boatyard are included
- Boat accessory flea market open to everyone. No table fee! Come and sell or buy
