Porvoo Jazz Festival: Pauli Lyytinen solo

For the first time the opening concert of the Porvoo Jazz Festival will be held on a Thursday, with renowned saxophonist Pauli Lyytinen taking the stage solo at the Porvoo Art Hall. Operating extensively in the realms of jazz, free improvisation, and electroacoustic contemporary music, saxophonist Pauli Lyytinen pushes his instrument to the extreme in his solo project.

As one of the most daring and unique musicians in the Finnish music scene, saxophonist Pauli Lyytinen creates entire musical worlds with his arsenal of instruments – either completely acoustically or with the use of effects and other technology.

Known for his work with the band Elifantree and the Pauli Lyytinen Magnetia Orchestra, the solo album of the saxophonist has been a long process, during which Lyytinen has, among other things, played and recorded accompanied by the songs of swans and nightingales in nature. The We Jazz record label released the Lehto | Korpi album in January 2024.
