The Respect musical will be performed for school groups and the general public at Kulturhuset Grand in March 2025, week 12, as part of the national anti-racism week’s program. This year’s theme is integration and the various reasons for migration (work, refuge, studies, family). The project has been carried out twice before (in the school years 2022-23 and 2023-24) and has been a great success.
The Respect project by Porvoon kansalaisopisto is carried out in cooperation with the Svenska Kulturfonden, Kulturhuset Grand, Porvoo Youth Services, the Finnish Red Cross, Porvoo Integration Center, and Porvoo Music School (Porvoon musiikkiopisto). The project’s goals are to promote multicultural equality and tolerance, as well as to prevent discrimination and bullying. The performance gives the audience an opportunity to better understand the experiences of people from different backgrounds and situations.
