A new kindergarten group to replace a private daycare

A private daycare centre with a single group has decided to close following a water damage incident over the weekend.

Norlandia Kammari has operated in the Gammelbacka area. The city of Porvoo and Norlandia have worked together to determine how to continue operations after the water damage incident. The solution was for the children to move to the early childhood education arranged by the city of Porvoo. The children will form a new group at Eestinmäen päiväkoti starting Wednesday 26 February.

– Sudden situations like this are challenging, but we found a solution where the children can stay together in the same group, and the facilities are located on the same side of the city, says Lena Karlsson, Director of Early Childhood Education.

The second Norlandia daycare centre Tupa, in Kevätkumpu, continues operating as normal.

– We are sorry that Norlandia Kammari’s operations ended so abruptly due to the space challenge. We warmly thank our customers for our time together and for the cooperation in this rapid change, says Miia Kollin, Country Manager at Norlandia.
