Porvoo Art Factory residence is seeking residency artists for the year 2026
Porvoo City Cultural Services is seeking residency artists to stay at the Art Factory residency. The residency periods or 1–3 months open for application are granted for the period 19.1.2026–10.1.2027. The residency includes a working space and an apartment. Rent is 400 euros per month.
The application period started in February. The residency is open to applicants of different artistic and cultural disciplines as well as other creatives.
– Approximately 20 artists and creatives work at Art Factory. The purpose of the residency program is to strengthen existing national and international networks, as well as form new connections and communities, which are beneficial to local art and cultural actors as well as city inhabitants, says Chief of Cultural Services Susann Hartman.
In recent years, residence artists have gained visibility all around Porvoo. They have carried out exhibitions and workshops.
– The residency program is an important part of the working process of modern artists, as well as actors within the cultural sector, such as writers. It also enriches our workshops, bringing workshop instructors from all over the world, says Henrik Lindqvist, exhibition coordinator at Porvoo Art Hall.
This year’s artists in residence at the Art Hall residency mainly come from Finland, Sweden, Japan and Germany. Some of the artists have been selected on basis of an open call, while others have been invited through partners. The artists work with different visual techniques, such as installation, cinematic art, installation and painting.
